We are committed to sustainable and ethical farming practices that prioritise the well-being of our livestock, the health of the land and the preservation of our natural environment. Discover the principles and techniques that guide our approach to farming, ensuring the highest standards of quality, sustainability, and animal welfare.

the process

Ram Preparation

Rams receive dedicated care during their solo time, allowing them to build up energy and fertility for the upcoming breeding season. Our veterinarian conducts thorough health checks to ensure they're in prime condition.

Ewe Preparation

After weaning, ewes are transferred to separate camps where they receive personalized attention to aid their recovery and prepare them for optimal breeding condition. Necessary vaccinations and treatments are administered to maintain their health.

Breeding Season

Rams are introduced to the ewes for a limited period, with meticulous care taken to minimize stress and ensure successful mating. Our hands-on approach ensures a harmonious and efficient breeding process.

Ewe Scanning

Following the breeding season, ewes undergo scanning to determine pregnancy status. Those not expecting are managed accordingly, either for culling or relocation to other flocks.

Lambing Time

During lambing season, our ewes receive attentive care to support them through the birthing process. Adequate nutrition and comfortable living conditions are provided to facilitate healthy lamb growth.

Marking Time

At the appropriate age, lambs are marked for identification and management purposes. This includes tattooing or ear clipping for traceability, tail docking if necessary, and castration for non-breeding males.

Weaning Process

Lambs are weaned from their mothers at the appropriate age, ensuring their transition to independence is smooth. Those ready for market are sent off, while potential breeding stock is selected for future generations.

Recovery Phase

Following the breeding and lambing seasons, ewes are given time to rest and recover before the next cycle begins. This ensures their continued health and productivity for future breeding endeavors.
